    Celtic Hearts Shawl in Progress

Blame Marti for this one. She posted about this pattern in her blog and when I saw it, I knew that it was perfect for this yarn. It’s been a relatively easy knit so far.

The yarn is Blue Moon Fiber Arts’ Luscious Single Silk in the colorway Valkyrie, my one self-indulgent purchase from the Madrona Fiber Arts’ Winter Retreat. Their website says that it’s 50% merino wool and 50% silk, but my tag says this batch is 60/40. Whatever it is, it’s so soft and squishy that I just want to bury my face in it. The silk sheen is lovely, as well.

I’m knitting it on size 7 nickel Knitpicks Options, with ever increasing cord lengths and have only started the second repeat. I have quite a while to go.

I can’t let this take too long, though. I still have Gabriel’s recycled sari silk vest and Shannon’s shawl to start.

Oh, I have one of these on the needles, but it doesn’t look anywhere as good as yours, probably because of the yarn. I will have to have a look elsewhere on your blog to see whether you’ve made any progress.
